Government (B.A.)
I graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., with a major in Government and an emphasis on American Politics. My time at Georgetown introduced me to the inner mechanisms of public policy and politics.
I returned to my home state of California and began law school at Santa Clara University School of Law. At SCU, I have gained the legal knowledge and skills necessary to help create positive change.
I am committed to serving and making an impact on the community that raised me. As a first-generation law student, I understand the importance of perseverance. I am passionate about advocating for underrepresented communities and first-generation students.
I got the chance to listen to Senator Bernie Sanders (VT) during a speech during his 2016 campaign for President.
Crowded selfies with President Clinton, perhaps the most well-known Georgetown alumnus.
Junior year, I met with Senator Tammy Duckworth, an Iraq War veteran and the first Asian American Senator from Illinois.
Attended a lecture series with Clarence Benjamin Jones, the speechwriter and counsel for the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
A talk before finals by then Vice President Joe Biden on monetary policy with former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker.
Discussed issues facing my community with Senator Chris Murphy (CT) after the 2016 election.
After my first year in law school, I worked as a law clerk at a local non-profit on immigration programs for refugees from Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the Middle East. I worked on asylum applications for families escaping war, famine, and poverty. And it opened my eyes to the need to serve those going through tough times.
I served as a Policy Fellow at the Panetta Institute for Public Policy, under the direction of former Defense Secretary, CIA Director, and SCU Alumni Leon Panetta. As a fellow, I prepared a presentation on Artificial Intelligence with the Secretary and the Institute members.
I worked with the Center for Social Justice to help raise money for scholarships for students. Recently, I was elected to serve alongside my colleagues in the Student Bar Association as Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. I hope to use this role to advocate for underrepresented communities and first-generation students.
I had the pleasure of participating in the Honors Moot Court Internal Program at SCU Law along with 24 other competitors. The process involved writing a 40-page brief on trademark and intellectual property rights, then arguing before judges in oral argument rounds. We even made it to Quarterfinals!
